Major plant upgrade for Maibec to boost capacity and reduce GHG emissions
A major order received from Maibec, Canada, to provide additional capacity and reduce GHG emissions significantly.
The rebuild will improve operational stability in the main press and optimize the energy plant’s operations.
Maibec, a North American leader in the production of building siding systems, has placed a significant modernization order with Sunds Fibertech. The scope of the supply includes a new hot water accumulator system for Line 2. The primary target of the upgrade is to enable Maibec to operate continuously with increased capacity, especially for 3/8” panels, while maintaining high quality and a low disturbance rate. To achieve this, it is necessary to increase the accumulator size to meet the requirements for smooth operation, especially for the boilers. Along with the newly designed control system, new instrumentation, and an updated pump setup with frequency control, the new accumulator will ensure a constant steam flow from the boiler throughout the entire press cycle. As a result of these modifications, the temperature during the entire press cycle will be stabilized, eliminating the significant temperature drops currently observed. This will ensure the economic and disturbance-free operation of the entire plant, provide additional capacity and significantly reduce GHG emissions.

The project will be implemented at the beginning of 2026.
